Plain Rice

Pain Rice is very essential for Indian recipes, where Indian foods will not end without a rice. You might be thinking recipe for plain rice???? Everyone can do it!!! But who are new to cooking will not be knowing anything. I usually cook rice in pan inside a pressure cooker. Here it goes.

  • Rice: 1 cup
  • Water: 2 1/4 cup or 2 1/2 cup(depends on rice)


 To cook in the pressure cooker:
  • Put rice in a pan & wash it for 3 times at least (this is to remove the dust & excess polish).
  • put water to rice.
  • Before placing pan in to cooker.
  • put the cooking stand and add water into cooker so the water raises just above the bottom of pan.
  • place the pan with rice into cooker, close the cooker with the lid and remember to put the Whistle and cook with high flame.
  • when it whistle for 3 times turn off the stove.
  • Wait till pressure cools down by itself (approximately 10minutes) to open the lid.
  • Now your Plain Rice is ready.
